Flowers – Say it With Silk

For thousands of years flowers have been important to humanity, either as gifts exchanged to mark special occasions or as items of decoration. In either, case the potency of flowers is unmatched, and, even in today’s modern world, flowers are still an important part of our culture.

Unfortunately, in the modern world, natural products like flowers can fail to live up to particular pressures. However, this does not mean that the beauty of flowers can’t be enjoyed in all sorts of situations.

This is because artificial flowers can be used in place of real flowers, where a real flower arrangement may not be appropriate. There are actually a few different situations where this may be the case.

Perhaps in the workplace, where the maintenance involved in caring for real flowers may not be cost effective, and instead silk flowers can be incorporated to create a lovely aesthetic without the need for watering or feeding.

More seriously, in hospitals – where real flowers may not be hygienic (for example, real blooms can aggravate certain conditions such as hay fever) – they can be replaced with silk flowers, which will exude the beauty of real posies without the associated health implications.

The quality of modern silk flowers is such that even in cases where real flowers may be appropriate, artificial flowers might be the better alternative. For instance, one of the most common uses of artificial greenery is at weddings, where artificial blooms can be adapted to match perfectly the personal tastes of bride and groom.
